Pantomime Season

There’s nothing more festive than going to watch a pantomime at Christmas time filled with lively singing and dancing as well as practical jokes guaranteed to make the whole family laugh and occasionally groan.

We have been busy making costumes, props and puppets for pantomime season.  Before you get wrapped up in the humour and story, take time to admire the sets, colours and design and you’ll begin to understand what it really means to do panto.

So what will you be going to watch this year? There’s plenty to choose from in and around Nottingham – our local area.

Nottingham

The traditional Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs gets a modern pantomime makeover this year at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal.  It stars actress Lesley Joseph as The Wicked Queen and EastEnders star as well as Dancing on Ice 2011 champion Sam Attwater as The Prince.

Derbyshire

The story of Jack and the Beanstalk is brought to life this year at Derby’s Buxton Opera House by actor and comedian Steve Nallon who is best known for impersonating Margaret Thatcher in TV's Spitting Image. He should be well used to working with obscure puppets and props then!

 Derby

If you fancy something a little deeper and more traditional then Derby Theatre has an adapted version of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ on stage this winter.  This classic is guaranteed to make you feel warm and festive this year.

Loughborough

Sleeping Beauty is a popular choice this year with the release of Disney’s Maleficent back in May. Everyone’s favourite sleeping princess is cursed by a wicked fairy on the day of her christening.  As we all know, good always triumphs over evil but not without the occasional duel and challenges.

If you’ve not been to a pantomime before then why not start this year. Local performances are often adapted to throw in jokes about your local area which can feel like the show has been put on just for you.

Our services are available all over the UK and Ireland and sometimes even further afield. Whether it’s for stage, panto, school, sports, advertisements or anything else, we can make costumes and props for you from your designs or our own ideas. Just contacts us for details.
